Taiwan is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, so an FCDO apostille on its own is not accepted. UK documents need a second authentication from the Taipei Representative Office in the U.K. We handle both stages, and the paperwork the TRO requires, from our City of London office. From £157 all-inclusive, typically 2–3 weeks end to end.
Send us a photo or PDF of the document and tell us what it is for in Taiwan. We will confirm which route it needs, the exact total including the consular fee, and a realistic date — in writing, before you post anything.

Both figures below cover the whole chain — the FCDO apostille, the £18 consular fee and our handling. There is nothing further to pay at the end.

Stage one is the FCDO apostille, and whether your document needs a solicitor's certification first is what decides between the £157 and £173 totals.
| Document | Notes |
|---|---|
| ✅ GRO civil registration certificates | Birth, marriage, death and civil partnership certificates and certificates of no impediment carry a registrar's signature the FCDO already recognises. They go straight to the apostille — total £157. |
| ✅ ACRO police certificates | An original ACRO certificate goes directly to the FCDO. A DBS certificate does not — it needs certifying first, which puts it in the £173 band. |
| ✅ Degree certificates, TEFL, QTS | University and awarding-body documents normally need a solicitor's certification before the FCDO will apostille them — total £173. For education documents the TRO may also want confirmation of authenticity from the awarding body; we will tell you if yours does. |
| ✅ Powers of attorney, contracts, company documents | Privately drawn documents are certified by a solicitor and the FCDO apostilles that certification — total £173. |
| ✅ Passport and ID copies | We take a certified copy so your passport stays with you, then apostille the certification. |
| ❌ Documents not issued in the UK | A UK apostille can only go on a UK public document. A certificate issued in Taiwan, or in a third country, must be legalised through that country's own authority. |
Every figure includes the FCDO government fee and the Taipei Representative Office consular fee. Consular fees are set by the TRO and can change — we confirm your total in writing before you commit.
