UK documents for use in Vietnam now need an FCDO apostille and nothing more — the Vietnamese Embassy authentication that used to follow it has been abolished. The FCDO can only apostille a document carrying a signature it recognises. That is what decides whether your document costs £79 or £95.

These carry a registrar's signature the FCDO already recognises, so they go straight to the apostille with no certification step. |
| ✅ ACRO police certificates — £79 | An original ACRO certificate goes directly to the FCDO. A DBS certificate does not — it needs certifying first, which puts it in the £95 band. |

Every figure includes the FCDO government fee. There is no longer an embassy fee on any Vietnam document.
