ℹ️
We Handle the Application Form and Passport Copy Coordination

  • Completed UAE Embassy personal attestation application form
  • Apostilled original document
🏢 Commercial Applications
  • Passport copy of one company director (photo page)

  • Completed UAE Embassy commercial attestation application form
  • Apostilled original document
Before You Submit

What You Need to Know Before Sending Your Documents

Getting the document right before submission prevents rejections and delays. We pre-check every document — but knowing the common requirements in advance saves time.

⚠️
Original Official Documents Are Required — Not Photocopies
The FCDO can only apostille original documents bearing the issuing authority's signature. Photocopies, laminated certificates, and non-official versions are rejected. For birth and marriage certificates, this means a GRO-issued certificate. If you've lost your original, we can order a replacement from the GRO at £60 — no account needed, 72hr processing.
🔄 Both Stages Are Mandatory for UAE Submission
For the vast majority of UAE purposes — employment visas, residency, family reunification, legal proceedings — both stages are required. An FCDO apostille without UAE Embassy attestation is not accepted by UAE authorities for these purposes. We coordinate both stages so you don't need to manage them separately.
📋 Personal vs Commercial — Important Fee Distinction
The UAE Embassy charges £95 per document for personal attestations and £476 per document for commercial attestations. Submitting a commercial document under the personal category results in rejection. We confirm the correct category for your document before submission.
🕐 Processing Times — Plan Ahead
The standard end-to-end service takes approximately 2 weeks: 2–3 working days for the FCDO apostille, then around 1 week at the UAE Embassy. If you have a fixed deadline — a visa appointment, a company registration date — contact us early so we can plan the fastest possible route.
🌍 Arabic Translation — May Be Required
Depending on the specific UAE authority you are submitting to, a certified Arabic translation may be required alongside your attested document. We can arrange certified Arabic translations as part of our combined service. Contact us to confirm whether a translation is needed for your specific purpose.

Frequently Asked Questions

UAE Embassy Attestation — Common Questions

Although the UAE is a signatory to the Hague Convention and accepts the FCDO apostille for some purposes, most UAE government authorities — the Ministry of Human Resources, immigration, courts, and licensing bodies — also require an additional UAE Embassy attestation stamp. The correct sequence is: (1) FCDO apostille, then (2) UAE Embassy attestation. We coordinate both stages end-to-end from our City of London office.
The standard end-to-end service takes approximately 2 weeks: 2–3 working days for the solicitor certification and FCDO apostille, followed by around 1 week at the UAE Embassy in London. A same-day FCDO service is available to reduce the apostille stage to 1 day. If you have a fixed deadline — a visa appointment or company registration date — contact us early so we can plan the fastest route.
The standard service costs £186 per personal document (£91 FCDO apostille + £95 UAE Embassy personal attestation) or £567 per commercial document (£91 FCDO apostille + £476 UAE Embassy commercial attestation). Same-day FCDO express options are available at additional cost — contact us for pricing. A certified Arabic translation can also be arranged alongside, price on application.
Personal attestation (£95 at the UAE Embassy) applies to documents relating to individuals — birth certificates, marriage certificates, degree certificates, police checks, and similar. Commercial attestation (£476 at the UAE Embassy) applies to company and business documents — contracts, powers of attorney, company formation documents, and board resolutions. The distinction is important: submitting a commercial document under the personal category results in rejection. We confirm the correct category for your document before submission.
For personal documents, the UAE Embassy requires a scanned copy of the applicant's valid passport (photo page). For commercial documents, they require a passport copy of one of the company directors plus a current director list from Companies House. Once you submit your order with us, we contact you to collect the required passport scan and guide you through completing the application form.
Depending on the UAE authority you are submitting to, a certified Arabic translation may be required alongside the attested document. Some UAE authorities accept English-language attested documents; others require a certified Arabic translation. We confirm whether a translation is needed for your specific purpose and can arrange certified Arabic translations as part of our combined service.
The UAE Embassy in London can attest a wide range of UK documents after they have been apostilled by the FCDO. Personal documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, divorce certificates, deed polls, police checks (DBS, ACRO, ICPC), and degree and education certificates. Commercial documents include contracts, powers of attorney, Companies House documents, certificates of incorporation, and board resolutions. Contact us with your specific document type and we will confirm eligibility and the correct fee category.
We accept documents in several ways: by Royal Mail Special Delivery (recommended — fully tracked and insured for original documents), by same-day or next-day courier, or in person at our City of London office (Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00). For same-day FCDO submission, documents must arrive before 10am. In some cases we can work from certified copies — contact us first and we will advise on what is needed for your specific documents.
